As the first post for this blog (yay!), I'm going to talk about toothpicks. I have recently discovered that toothpicks can be used as quite useful drawing tools! In the absence of a proper embossing tool (something I used to own, but has now been lost in the midst of my endless amount of junk!), I found that a simple toothpick does the job quite nicely.

I have been loving the Polychromos pencils, but have found that even a pen and white ink don't really work overly well at applying thin lines on top of the pencil. But I've been pretty pleased with the result of a humble toothpick paired with the pencils layered on top! Ha.

Realistic animal drawings have been giving me a lot of enjoyment recently, albeit the large amounts of fur! And the large amount of time it takes me to do it.

Also, I am about to move from Sydney, Australia to San Francisco. I'm not sure how easily a big box of Polychromos pencils will travel, but I'm about to find out! But hey, at least I don't need to transport some random, metal, pointy objects to the other side of the world when I have toothpicks!
